Visitation, Tours, and Observations
This policy was adopted by the Governing Board in accordance with A.R.S. §15-184(J).
ALA values family involvement and welcomes opportunities for parents and prospective families to learn more about the school’s educational programs and learning environment.
Consistent with Arizona law, parents of enrolled students and parents considering enrollment may request classroom observations, school tours, and informational visits.
Classroom Observations
- Parents or guardians of enrolled students may request to observe their child's classroom.
- Requests should be submitted to the school office at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance whenever possible.
- Observations are generally limited to thirty (30) minutes unless otherwise approved by administration.
- Observations may be postponed or rescheduled due to testing, confidential activities, student privacy concerns, safety considerations, or operational needs.
- Visitors may observe instruction but may not disrupt lessons, interact with students, or interfere with classroom operations.
School Tours
- Prospective families may participate in individual or group tours.
- Tours may include classroom observations when appropriate.
- Tours will be scheduled to minimize disruption to instruction.
Visitor Procedures
All visitors must:
- Check in through the school office.
- Sign in and obtain a visitor badge.
- Follow all school safety procedures.
- Remain in approved areas.
- Sign out before leaving campus.
Student Privacy
To protect the privacy of all students:
- Photography, video recording, and audio recording are prohibited unless specifically authorized by administration.
- Visitors may not distribute or publish student information obtained during visits or observations.
Administrative Authority
The School Administrator or designee may limit, postpone, deny, or terminate a visit, tour, or observation when necessary to:
- Protect student safety
- Protect student privacy
- Maintain instructional integrity
- Preserve school operations
All decisions will be made in accordance with applicable law and in the best interests of students.
